If our natural imaginative reaction to it is the conjuring of ghosts, then the film-makers have a powerful symbol and setting, and can then lead us into its shadowed interior, then (of course!) down to the subconscious basement where the former occupants lurk.Hugh Majornoreply@blogger.com
