FOR WAIKATO WRITERS' RESIDENCY
Hand
on heart, I admit that I am sometimes at a loss for things to write about in
this “Something Thoughtful” section. Not being a born editorialist, I find
there are only so many things that one can be grumpy about in the world of the
arts, politics or general culture. So this week I forego the duty of finding a
suitable topic, and instead find the space to publicise the University of
Waikato’s Writers’ Residency. The following information has been sent to me by
Associate Professor Sarah Shieff
Applications for the 2020
Creative New Zealand/ University of Waikato Writers’ Residency are now open.
The award is tenable for 12 months from early January 2020. The stipend for the
year is $52,000. Applications close on Friday 11 October 2019.
